Elif Yazici January 12, 2016 How Macroeconomics Came to Be Economy holds great importance in our lives when it comes analyzing how money functions overall, what employment really means, and what kind of fluctuations affect the world we live in. It encompasses a great wealth of knowledge that allows us to understand and make sense of many occurrences and events in the world. Before delving into the details, this paper showcases the history behind how macroeconomics came into being and the main aspects of it. Macroeconomics consists of theories that encompass a larger-scale viewpoint of economy, such as interest rates, and productivity. The first work of achievement that spoke out on the topic of macroeconomics was a Scottish economist name David Hume. In his famous works, he spoke out against mercantilism, which was common in the years of 1450s to 1750s. When the SMEs generate their income, they deposited them in the various commercial banks in Ghana. It is from these funds that the banks advance loans to their needy customers. And these funds are sometimes loaned to the government to finance its developmental projects. Also, the income generated by the SMEs is subject to tax. Thus their returns are taxed for the development of the nation. These taxes, when collected, are used for the construction of roads, schools, hospitals and other social amenities. More so, SMES help to produce and enhance the movement of goods outside the country. They also help to the country to export its raw materials or natural resources to foreign countries for foreign exchange. And it also paves the way for some local goods to be marketed outside the country. And this help to increase the gross domestic product (GDP) and per capital income of the country. Lastly, Most of the current larger enterprises have their origin in small and medium enterprises. This is to say that most of the large scale enterprises in Ghana were SMEs before their current state. SMEs are different from large scale enterprises in three main aspects; uncertainty, innovation and evolution. Therefore we can say that SMEs are the starting point of development in the Ghanaian economy towards industrialization. The essay involves the reflective judgment as well as the personal judgement. I stated my personal opinion in the essay related to the incident and th e fact whether it is good or bad. The incident was definitely beneficial for few people; I stated the class of people for whom it was actually beneficial. The essay ends with a critical judgment of the incident. The critical judgment includes the critical thinking of the incident, the analysis of the causes of the incident and the consequences of the incident. This has been done with the help of the Tripps framework. Identification and recount of an incident The incident happened with me when I was teaching in standard 8 in school. That was the first year of my teaching and I was new in this industry. I was posted in middle school. I usually delivered lecture to the students of class 8 and class 9. It was then that I came across such an incident. I was taking class in class 8 which was initially a challenging experience for me. The teaching in class 8 was challenging for me as both in terms of student disengagement and my lack of patience. I usually came across situation when the students turned out to be turbulent. It was one day when I was extremely tired because of the usual chaos that happened in the class and moreover I could predict the occurrence of such turbulent sites inside the classroom. However before going to take the class I experienced blame on me of being too harsh with the boys in the class. There was a student named Sharon, who usually had a chatty nature and she was quite bouncy. She was charming and had a jovial natur e. She was however quite attentive in class and took active part in the discussions that were held inside the classroom. She was interested in the conversations related to study inside the classroom. While having a discussion about her nature and character this can be mentioned that she was very particular about her lessons and she was dedicated towards her studies. It so happened that day, she came inside the class and I found her sitting in her own desk with her eyes downcast and her hands folded. She sat towards the back of the classroom. The other students soon took out their lessons and they started to resume their work but I found Sharon quite off that day and did not voluntarily take her work out that day. I went up to her and asked her to take out her work. She answered me that she would do it. She ignored my instruction and she continued to talk and laugh. In spite of my continuous warning she kept on chatting and paid no heed to what I said. Finally I busted on her and ask ed to stay behind in the lunch time. At that time she dumped her laptop on her table and I found that she had not completed her work. Later during the lunch hour I asked the reason for todays behavior by dismissing the entire class. Initially she tried to control her emotions and finally she could not control her emotions and she wept badly and burst into tears. The reason that she told me filled me with pity and sympathy for her. She told that she was being bullied by her friends during the course of recess. She was feeling isolated and hated by others. This is was the real incident that happened. Description of the teaching and learning context. I personally dont like the peer pressure. I feel this is a wrong way of dominating someone. As a teacher it is my responsibility to teach my all students in an equal manner. I oppose the peer pressure that currently exists in many schools and colleges. It brings down the moral of the students. As a teacher I would not want my students to suffer from any kind of distress. Apart from their academic career I want to make them a good human being. Analysis of the incident from the perspectives of other people involved (e.g. principal, parents/guardians, coordinators, other students etc.) The incident was not encouraged by the principle. The principle punished the students who was responsible for bullying the girl which proved the fact that it was not an offensive. The guardian disliked the incident as no parents would want their child to suffer such serious issues like depression at an early age. The coordinators investigated the entire situation and analyzed all the views attached to the incident. They tried to console Stephen and they tried to know the real cause her poor performance in class. However, the cause was criticized by the supervisors. The other students were the victims of peer pressure and they were responsible for the situation. They needed proper guidance to avoid the situation in the future. Reflections on things learned the beliefs as an educator. I personally dont like the peer pressure. I feel this is a wrong way of dominating someone. As a teacher it is my responsibility to teach my all students in an equal manner. I oppose the peer pressure that currently exists in many schools and colleges. It brings down the moral of the students. As a teacher I would not want my students to suffer from any kind of distress. Apart from their academic career I want to make them a good human being. I faced a dilemma. I was quite disheartened when I found my students practicing the corrupted things. This is the reason I dont like it. I dont want the kids to be the reason of somebodys tears. The activities like teasing and bullying are something that is harmful for the ones who are the victim of the same as well as the ones who are responsible for the action. I think it is not beneficial for anybody. It destroys the society by creating a disturbance in the society. The students who are found engaging in the activities of bullying and teasing are going towards a wrong direction in life. In the long run it is not beneficial for them. It is ultimately misleading the ones who are performing such activity. It is not beneficial for the society, not for the ones who are conducting such acts and not even to those who are responsible for such acts and as a teacher it is not beneficial even for me. Reflections on how this incident has changed the approach to learning and teaching. This is not beneficial from the context of teaching and learning. Sometimes the teachers does certain activities that they should not do. The teachers themselves feel bad after doing such activities. In this case I scolded Stephen initially without knowing the circumstances she was going through. Initially the distracting behavior of Stephen was creating a disturbance for me. I was not able to concentrate and teach. Stephen usually performed well in the class and she was unable to concentrate on her studies. This affected the process of teaching and learning. When I asked her to show me the lessons I found that she has done any of her lessons. The reason for this was she was disturbed because of the behavior of the classmates. She was broken from inside and this was evident in her behavior when the tears rolled down from her eyes. The social balance of the student was disturbed because of this and this affected the mental stability of the student. The academic career of the student w as disturbed and she could not perform well. This is because the incident kept on running in her mind and she was terribly affected because of the incident. As a teacher I learned that I should understand the problems faced by my students and should try to resolve them. Reflections on the things learned about the learners in the incident and their learning. The students who were responsible for bullying and teasing Stephen were not aware of their crime. The offense done by they were entertained at their homes and it is because of the lack of culture that they performed such activity. Stephen was broken from this incident and she tried to pretend to hide the incident but however it left a deep mark in her heart that she broke into tears because of this. Broader ramifications for how this incident may affect the community's engagement in learning The activities like bullying and teasing can be mentioned as a social activity. it can have various social implications and social effects. According to the social context, the act of bullying can be mentioned as hostile intent. It is caused purposely and deliberately. It is not the outcome of any accident. Bullying causes the imbalance of power between the bully and the victim. The act of bullying is performed keeping in mind certain reasons. There are many social causes of bullying. One can be gender inequality in which the men want to exert some amount of force on the females and they want to execute pressure on them. The other reason is the social stratification or the inequality of status in the society. This is the prominent reason that has occurred in the above case. This is more evident in schools and colleges. The social status of all the students are not the same. They are different from each other. Why Is This Question Tricky? At the end of Act 3, Reverend Hale quits the court in Salem out of frustration because he sees that irrationality and hysteria have taken over the proceedings. However, in Act 4, we learn that he has returned to Salem to speak with the prisoners and convince them to confess. The landmark man-made structures in the photograph are set at the backdrop of the mountains and vegetation which surround the photo. The photo also provides a multi-faceted view of the architecture of the city. The skyscraper at the middle of the picture shows the modern look of the city. The pyramid situated at the center of the photo in front of the skyscraper provides a traditional view of the city. The boundary created within the photo between the mountains, vegetation, and the man-made structures provide another angle to viewing the picture (Bravo). Macbeth - A Good Guy In the beginning of the play Macbeth was portrayed as a "good being" he fought for his country and for his king. Shakespeare describes Macbeth in such quotes as "for brave Macbeth-well he deserves that name" (pg. 38, line 16), and "What he hath lost, noble Macbeth hath won."(pg. 40 line 67). These types of quotes in the play seem to be placed with the so called "Good guys" when they achieve or accomplish something that is great. The thoughts of killing the king only began after the three witches had made the three predictions. When Lady Macbeth had read her husbands letter about what the witches had promised. Lady Macbeth waited until Macbeth arrived home and pushed him to make the predictions come true. Macbeth knew the murder of Duncan is wrong but Lady Macbeth pushes him to act. Unlike Macbeth, Lady Macbeth does not struggle with the battle against evil she simply brings it upon herself. "Come you spirits that tend my mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe, top full of direst cruelty. Come thick night, and pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell, that my knife see not the wound it makes, nor heaven peep through the blanket of dark."(pg. 51 line 41) These lines are stated in a soliloquy, asking for the evil spirits to be bought upon her. Lady Macbeth could never of killed Duncan as he reminder her of her own father ,proving Macbeth had to also fulfil Lady Macbeth's ambitions as well as his own. The heroic loyal character of Macbeth is forced into a internal battle to decide between ambition and loyalty to his king. Macbeth overcomes the evil within him, though Lady Macbeth crushes his thoughts of loyalty to the king by calling him a coward or threatening his manliness. Macbeth allows the evilness to grow within him, which allows ambition to take control of his life. Due to the evilness that has started to control his life he prepares to kill the man who has given him everything to his credit, to fulfil his ambition, and to become King.

Michael Obi in Dead Men’s Path is an excitable young man who gets a chance to get his hopes of progressing the Ndume Central School fulfilled when he is appointed headmaster. His obsession with â€Å"modern ways† and extreme eagerness to make changes negatively affect his decision making on how important the path is to the town’s natives. His dismissal and refusal to acknowledge the tradition is the inevitable means to the end of the story. Obi is so focused on his assignment of bringing the school into the modern world that he is blind to how important the traditional tribal ways and beliefs are to the townspeople he needs to work with in order for the school to be successful. He is very stubborn and refuses to keep an open mind about the path. His only focus is making the school as modern as possible and to stamp out anything old and traditional. He ignores the warnings from the fellow teachers and signs from the villagers about the path. When another teacher warns him about how there was â€Å"a big row† the last time someone attempted to close the path, he brushes it off and decides to block it off anyways. Even when the village priest calls on Obi to tell him how much the village depended on the path and how important it is to their tradition, he would still not listen and respect what the priest has to say. After a young woman dies during childbirth Obi finally has to face the consequences of his stubbornness to compromise with the villagers. Obi shows an inability to compromise with the villagers because of his complete belief in modern ways and his negative attitude towards the â€Å"primitive† (as he sees them) beliefs of the villagers. Obi will not allow the villagers to make a highway out of the school. He feels that his goal  with the school is to teach students through â€Å"modern ways† to laugh at the idea of tradition. He doesn’t think that students can be taught in these modern ways and still respect their ancestors tradition. This ultimately leads to the school’s downfall. Conclusion In the end, Michael Obi is not able to accomplish his goal of creating a modern school from an unprogressive one. He is so focused on his goal that he will not listen to the villagers or respect their cultural tradition. He ignores the warnings teachers and villagers give him about the importance of the footpath and shows a complete inability to compromise with them because of his attitude towards their beliefs. This in the end leads to the destruction of the school and Michael Obi’s dream with it.

Jerry Rice essays Jerry Rice was born in the town of Crawford, Mississippi, on October 13, 1962; he was the sixth of eight children. His parents Joe and Eddie B. worked hard to provide for them. Both Jerry and his older brother, Tom, were talented players and both were offered football scholarships to college. Tom (his brother) went to Jackson State and the family had great hopes that he would be drafted to a pro team but that didn ¡t work out. Jerry attracted the attention of several colleges, but he accepted the offer from Mississippi Valley State after being scouted by that team ¡s coach, Archie Cooley. The Delta Devils (the team that jerry played for) had a strong passing offence which gave Jerry four years to work on the skills that would take him to the top of the list of NFL receivers. He caught 112 receptions for 1,845 yards and 28 touchdowns in his senior year. By the time he left college he had set 18 NCAA Division II records, finishing with a college career total of 4,693 receiving yards. Although scouts were impressed with his outstanding performance on the field and his leadership abilities, they were curious about his speed. Academic Strengths

Everybody has something in life that they are good at; something that person naturally has a knack for. Some people excel in athletics, for others it may be fine arts such as art or theater, for many it may be an academic subject, such as English and writing. In my case, I am considered an exception to normality. Since starting school, I have always had an exceptional aptitude for mathematics and science. It always came naturally. Throughout elementary and middle school, math was a breeze for me. It presented few challenges and I often found myself correcting my teachers instead of vice versa. However, entering high school, math classes became increasingly difficult and strenuous. Although the course work increased and became more time consuming, in the end, I adjusted well to the upper level courses I began taking. It was not until my sophomore year, that math suddenly became extremely strenuous. That year, I took Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-Ap) Algebra II with the best math teacher I have ever had, Mrs. Robison. During the first couple of grading periods, I maintained a B- average in her class. This was different, considering that I was used to having such high grades in my math classes. One day after school, I decided I would arrange a student teacher meeting to discuss my grade and the steps I would be able to take to improve it. While meeting with Mrs. Robison, she gave me some of the best advice I had ever received. She told me, â€Å"Jermyah, math comes easily for you but, if you do not study and apply yourself, your goal of having an A in this class, or any other class for that matter, will never become a reality. † From that day forward, my previously jaded outlook on math was transformed into an attitude that would allow me to get the grade I desired. The following year, I moved on to Pre-Calculus. In this class, I used everything I learned from Mrs. Robison regarding math and whenever it applied to everday life. I was to finish the class with an A average. This year I am in AP Calculus and I have the privilege of having Mrs. Robison again. I am maintaining an A in this class so far; and I look forward to exercising my greatest academic strengths everyday in her class. Another subject that I find that I excel in is science. I have found many aspects of it to be extremely interesting. For example, knowing that science is just like math, but applied to real situations, intrigues me. As mentioned earlier, similar to math, it has always come natural to me; but, different from math, I really enjoy science. Upon my entering high school, I took Pre-Ap Biology. I was fortunate enough to have a teacher that was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. I completed the class with a B+ average. My junior year, I took Pre-Ap Physics and Astronomy. My astronomy teacher has been the most passionate teacher that I have ever had It is because of him that all of my apprehensions regarding my lack of interest in the cosmos were put to the side. Mr. Austin found a way to make his passion for space, and its counterparts to rub off on me. He taught me that you will succeed naturally at what you yearn to learn for. Math and science comes naturally to me because of my interest in these two subjects. It has been a coincidence that in both of these subjects I have had two of the most inspirational teachers of my high school career. Considering the fact that math and science is involved in everyday life, it is a blessing that I am dominant in these two subjects. What more could a girl ask for?

Based on the above view, marketers can effectively promote customer engagement if they employ ‘tactics that enable customers to interact with the brand’ (Tuten 2008, p.26). In any case, customer engagement can be defined differently in the context of each organization, according to the priorities set and the organizational goals. Under these terms, customer engagement can be used just to emphasize on the need for ‘showing care to the customer’ (Seruca et al. 2006, p.49). When a customer feels that he is cared of at the highest possible level, then he is expected to be engaged (Seruca et al. 2006, p.49). This means that in organizations that customers’ needs are not addressed, the level of customer engagement will be quite low. The characteristics of customer engagement have been further explored through a survey developed between December 2006 and January 2007 (Economist Intelligence Unit 2007, p.2). In the particular survey, about 300 executives have been asked to state their view in regard to the criteria used for characterizing a customer as engaged. The graph 1 above shows the answers of the customer in regard to this issue. These answers reflect the potential elements of customer engagement as appearing in markets worldwide. In practice, the development of an accurate definition in regard to customer engagement can be a challenging initiative. For this reason, a series of theoretical frameworks have been introduced for helping marketers to identify the potential e ffects of customer engagement on their products/ services. Using these frameworks, customer engagement can be described by focusing on different criteria. For example, if using the brand equity theory, customer engagement can be described as a concept related to ‘brand awareness, loyalty, quality, associations and competitiveness’
